Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go, without having to switch between devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For example, you can opt for the robot to do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only problem is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. robot hoover enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. updated blog post is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has several characteristics that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
